Dominique Brown, a renowned social media influencer and Disney theme park enthusiast, tragically passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, due to a severe allergic reaction. The incident occurred at a holiday food event organized by BoxLunch in Vibiana, Los Angeles.

What Happened at the Event?

According to reports from Yahoo! News and Daily Mail, Brown consumed food that was reportedly free of an allergen she was allergic to, based on assurances from the event staff. Unfortunately, this led to a fatal reaction.

Dominique Brown’s Journey and Contributions

Brown, known as @HelloDomo on Instagram, hailed from Long Beach, California, and was celebrated for her love of Disney theme parks and collectibles. In 2018, she co-created BlackGirlDisney alongside Mia Von, a community focused on the representation of women of color in the Disney influencer space. Her initiative brought together fans who share a passion for Disney films and theme parks.

Just a few days before her untimely demise, Dominique attended a screening of Moana 2 on Nov. 27 and shared a photo on social media.

On Dec. 6, Brown’s brother, Patrick Ramos, shared a heartfelt comment on her final Instagram post, expressing his gratitude to her fans:

“Hi everyone, this is @pramos313 – Dominique’s brother, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to her social media fam for showing her so much love and light. Disney did bring her joy, but it was unparalleled that she found a community who loved her and Disney as much as she did. I will miss my sister and best friend and that infectious smile she always had. Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart. ❤️🥺.”

A Community in Mourning

Dominique’s impact was evident in the outpouring of love from her followers. One user wrote: “Thank you Dominique for bringing the Black Girl Disney community together. You are such a light, that anyone can feel through the screen or in person,”.
